Wheelchair-Accessible Van Service
ServiceOur Wheelchair Van Service is available to Fremont and Newark residents who use wheelchairs or who are ambulatory and require special door-to-door assistance. Rides to and from destinations in Fremont, Newark and Union City are available from 8am to 6pm, 7 days a week. Reservations are taken up to 7 days in advance; same-day rides are available on a space-available basis only.
EligibilityRide-On Tri-Cty! transportation services are available to:
- Fremont or Newark residents who are 70 years of age or older OR
- Fremont or Newark resident who is unable to use public transit independently due to a disability or disabling health condition.
Rides cost $4 per one-way trip. Fares are paid using a pre-paid vouchers and cost $40 per book of 10 one-way trips vouchers. Enrolled participants can access a maximum of 300 one-way trips per year. Riders present a pre-paid trip voucher for each one-way ride. A personal care attendant, who provides needed assistance when traveling, may accompany the rider at no charge. Additional passengers (companions) are required to pay $4 for each one-way trip.
Rides are provided in lift-equipped, wheelchair-accessible vans.

Ride-On Tri-City! offers Group Trips, in addition to door-to door transportation services, for social and recreational outings for housing complexes, social groups, or community organizations serving people with disabilities or people 60 years and older.
Trips can be arranged for 6 or more people Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and must depart and return on the same day. Destinations must be within a 25-mile radius of the Fremont City Hall building. Group Trips must be arranged ahead of time and will be accommodated depending on program funding, vehicle availability and trip distance. Groups can request one 16 or 22 passenger vehicle per trip.
Programs funded by Alameda CTC through Measure B and Measure BB sales tax.
East Bay Paratransit
East Bay Paratransit provide wheelchair-accessible transportation for people who are unable to use AC Transit buses and BART trains because of a disability or disabling health condition. East Bay Paratransit, the largest paratransit provider in Alameda County, is sponsored by AC Transit and BART to meet the requirements of the ADA. Service is available in the same area where BART and AC Transit operate: from Richmond or Pinole in the North, to Fremont in the South, and to the Pleasanton/Dublin BART station in the East. Service is also available to and from San Francisco. The application process requires and in-person interview, which can be scheduled at the East Bay Paratransit's satellite office at Fremont City Hall. Union City Paratransit
Union City Paratransit is for Union City residents who are unable to use public transportation due to disability or health condition.Union City Paratransit is a service of Union City Transit and the City of Union City. Union City Paratransit provides services required under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Services are partially funded by the Measure B and Measure BB sales tax of Alameda County.
