35th Annual Coastal Cleanup Day
Saturday, September 21, 2019
Participate in California Coastal Cleanup Day, the state’s largest volunteer event, which will be held on Saturday, September 21 from 9 a.m. to noon along various sites in Fremont to help clean our local beaches and waterways. Last year the statewide cleanup brought over 65,000 volunteers out and removed over 600,000 pounds of trash and recyclables. This trash is not only harmful to people, it’s also bad for the birds, mammals and fish that call these areas home.
Participation in this year’s California Coastal Cleanup Day event is an opportunity to ask everyone in California to help us get rid of all the trash before it has a chance to wash out to the San Francisco Bay and ultimately to the Ocean; and serves as a reminder that keeping our city free of debris is the entire community’s responsibility.
