Fremont 50th Anniversary Celebration

Fremont's 50th anniversary celebration in Central Park on September 9-10, 2006 proved to be the perfect opportunity for the City to launch the update of its current General Plan, which will guide land use decisions through 2030. Thousands of Fremont residents visited the General Plan tent at the event and weighed in on Fremont's future.

General Plan Roadmap

General Plan Update Process

The General Plan Update Process involved community input throughout 2007 on a vision for the future. Targeted issue forums through mid 2008 will further distill this vision, which will serve as a foundation for a draft General Plan that will be brought back to the community and the City Council for review and comments. Final adoption of an updated General Plan is anticipated in mid-2009.

Opportunities for Public Involvement
