As part of the City’s ongoing proactive traffic management effort, Fremont has selected two partners for the 2019 Startup in Residence (STIR) program: IPgallery Urban Mobility and ClearRoad, Inc. Each startup will leverage its technology to develop a solution to City-proposed civic challenges by working with the Transportation Engineering Division.
Beginning this month, IPgallery Urban Mobility will design a traffic incident communication tool that aims to facilitate communication between City staff and Fremont roadway users and help mitigate problems before serious delays and bottlenecks occur.
ClearRoad will also be working to modernize and streamline processes, including the issuance of transportation permits and the enforcement of truck routes and regulations.
These partnerships further Fremont’s continuous efforts to work with players in the technology industry to ease traffic congestion throughout Fremont roadways. STIR 2019 will occur over the duration of a 16-week period spanning from January to May.
