City of Fremont Annual Rent Review Program Fee Invoices Mailed to Landlords

invoices

On May 7, 2019, the Fremont City Council approved the FY 2018/19 Annual Rent Review Program Fee of $14 per unit. The invoices have been mailed to all landlords who own residential rental units in Fremont on May 13, 2019, and are due by June 27, 2019.

The source of funding for the Rent Review Ordinance is an annual per-unit cost-recovery fee that is approved annually by City Council and subsequently billed to residential landlords. In determining the fee, City staff used the appropriated expenditure and the number of residential rental units subject to the Rent Review Ordinance, and apportioned the cost equally to all residential rental units in the city as allowed pursuant to state law.
