Electric Vehicle Charging Station Permit

Everyone knows that driving an electric or zero-emission vehicle can benefit the environment, as well as result in significant savings on fuel. But did you know that the City of Fremont's 94539 zip code is home to more electric vehicle (EV) drivers than any other zip code in California? 

With so many electric vehicles in this area, residents and builders need to remember that a permit is required for the installation of an electric vehicle charging station.

Permit Process

Submit the following documents to the Development Services Center located at 39550 Liberty Street. You can also submit electronically or by fax.

Your plans will be reviewed by one of our staff members. After a permit is issued and the installation is complete, a final inspection is required.

Permit Application: $50.00
Electrical Permit: $90.00
CPF: $13.50
Archiving: $8.50 (rounded/approximate fee)
Estimated Total: $162.00

Note: This does not include any additional fees for electrical panel upgrades or additional plan check reviews.
