Sailing Classes

Basic   


This course is being taught by the Fremont Sailing Club. Fifteen hours of classroom lecture and on-water training in Toppers & El Toros covers water safety, sailing terminology, theory, points of sail, boat handling and rights of way. BE AWARE: As you know, sailing is a wet sport in an outdoor setting.  Basic swimming skills are needed.  Bring a change of clothes, towel, sunscreen, water, lunch and necessary medications. NOTE: Successful completion of the Basic Sailing Program qualifies you for our Intermediate Sailing Program.

Intermediate


This course is being taught by the Fremont Sailing Club and is intended for students with some experience sailing small sailboats, such as Fremont's Beginning Sailing class. Ten hours of classroom discussion and on-water practice in sailing and single-sail and sloop-rigged small sailing boats. Students should have clothes for either warm or cool weather, soft sole shoes, and a change of clothes in case they get soaked.
