Weekly classes are taught by paid instructors or local volunteers. A list of the classes & activities can be seen by clicking on the link above to view the Activity Calendar. Class sizes are limited and pre-enrollment is required for all classes.
If you are a member, once our online web portal is up and running, you will be able to register for your classes online. Watch here to see when the portal is ready to use.
If you do not want to become a member, you still need to register with us and fill out an activity enrollment form to be enrolled in a class. Fill out this Registration Form online or print it out and bring it to us at the Senior Center.

Rock N' Aerobics
|Join us for this new, exciting, and fun class designed to get your heart pumping and your energy level up, while increasing your cardiovascular endurance in an enjoyable and safe aerobic dance fitness class format, all done to fun, hard rocking, 1950's and early 1960's Rock n' Roll, Rockabilly, Do Wop, and Surf toe tappers.

Fee: $25 Members, $45 Non-Members

|Let's Keep It Moving||An exercise program geared for the mature adult/senior without the movement and mobility required in a more typical aerobics class. Designed to help those who want to be physically fit through easy movement, strength and core work, stretching, toning, balance and small motor flexibility. Pre-registration is requred before taking this class.

|Tai Chi for Arthritis||Tai Chi is one of many alternative therapies that can provide relief from pain, possibly letting you cut back on pain medications. The Tai Chi for Arthritis Program is designed to improve the quality of life for people with arthritis using Sun style Tai chi, one of the five major recognized styles of Tai Chi which includes agile steps and exercises that may improve mobility, breathing and relaxation. The movements don't require deep bending or squatting, which makes it easier and more comfortable to learn. Pre-registration is required before this class.

|Zumba Gold||Zumba Gold takes the Zumba formula and modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Zumba is known for its zesty Latin music like salsa, merengue, cumbia and reggae; the exhilarating, easy-to-follow moves; and the invigorating, party-like atmosphere. For those who want caraderie, excitement and fitness as a regular part of their weekly schedule, Zumba Gold is the perfect fit. Pre-registration is required before taking this class.
The present session of Zumba Gold is only 7 weeks long due to the holidays. The fees for this session are below:

|Chinese Calligraphy|| Chinese Calligraphy calms the mind and feeds the soul. Explore your creative side with simple strokes and brush techniques in this class.

|| Are you interested in writing? Join this class to exercise your mind and increase your mental dexterity in creative writing exercises.

|Drawing & Acrylic Painting
|| Indulge your creative side by joining this group of creative seniors who can help you gain the basics of how to accurately render what you see.

|Mah Jongg|| A card game that originated in China that is similar to the Western card game rummy, Mah Jongg is a game of skill, strategy, and calculation and involves a degree of chance. Join this class to learn the basics and have a bit of fun!

|Needlecrafts|| Join this class to learn any needlecraft like crocheting, knitting, embroidery, quilting etc. Bring your own materials and the instructor can work with you on a one-on-one basis.

|Senior Center Singers|| Seniors come together and sing together accompanied on alternate weeks by a piano or by a karaoke CD on a television.

|HEALTH & WELLNESS|
|Chair Yoga*|| This class incorporates all the basic body mechanics of yoga postures. Participants do twists, hip stretches, forward bends and mild back-bends while seated. You get the benefits of yoga without the stress on your lower body. $1 Donation at each session.
When: Mondays, 3:00 - 4:00 pm
|Hatha Yoga*|| This is a stretch class that moves through a series of poses that stretch mainly the upper body - the spine, shoulders, neck and back. $1 Donation at each session.
When: Wednesdays, 3:30 - 4:30 pm
|Meditation|| Join this class to learn how to meditate. Meditation is known to reduce inflammation and improve insomnia and help reduce the number of respiratory infections in older adults.

|New Life Line Dance*|| This class uses a combination of dances from various Chinese groups including figure dance, ethnic dance, fan dance and aerobics.
When: Tuesdays & Fridays, 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
|Senior Fitness*|| This class involved working with stretch bands and 2 to 5 lb weights. It also includes a very low-impact aerobics session. $1 Donation at each session.

|Tai Chi|| Yang style tai chi is the most popular and widely practiced tai chi style worldwide. Tai Chi improves health, reduces stress and helps you move more gracefully. Everybody who practices tai chi will develop chi and use slow-motion, flowing, circular movements.

|Walk This Way|| Walk This Way meets each Friday at 8:30 a.m. and is a fitness and walking program which features balance, flexibility, strength, brain fitness, and walking activities for maintaining a healthy, active lifestyle. The class also provides information about community events. Class members enjoy walking together at Lake Elizabeth and in various East Bay Regional Parks.

|Yoga|| Join this gentle stretch class which is taught by our nonagenarian (90+ years) instructor.

|Yuanji Dance|| Chinese Yuan Ji Dance is a mixture of martial arts, physical therapy, meditation, dance and Gigong exercise. This multicultural dance promotes health and well-being for all. We welcome anyone who wants to participate in dance exercises.

|American Sign Language||Interested in learning the American Sign Language? Join this class which follows a ten session syllabus to learn the basics of ASL.
When: Thursdays, 1:30 - 2:30 pm
|Spanish Immersion||This class uses a very unconventional way of learning Spanish. It incorporates movies and conversations rather than the traditional classroom setting.
