I-880 Pacific Commons Bridge Project

The City of Fremont’s I-880 Pacific Commons Bridge Project proposes to build a bridge over I-880 just south of the Auto Mall Parkway Interchange, thereby providing pedestrians and cyclists with a safer way to cross I-880 and avoid the busy interchange at Auto Mall Parkway area. On the east side it will connect to an enhanced bikeway on Grimmer Boulevard and the Warm Springs BART Station area. On the west side, the project will connect to the Pacific Commons shopping center and the Fremont Technology Business Park and ultimately link to the Bay Trail. This project will close a key gap in the pedestrian and bicycle network between the Pacific Commons commercial district and the Warm Springs BART transit oriented development district.
