The Dumbarton Bridge to Quarry Lakes Trail will provide an east-west regional trail connection between San Mateo/Santa Clara Counties and Alameda County. The trail will provide access to priority development areas (PDAs), transit centers, regional open spaces, and urbanized neighborhoods and form a significant link in the overall Alameda County and regional trail network.
The trail corridor is approximately 8 miles in length and will generally be comprised of paved Class I multi-use pathways, Class IV separated bikeways, protected intersections, and wide sidewalks. View the project animation below that provides an overview of the trail alignment and the destinations that it will connect to.
The preliminary engineering and environmental clearance phase of the project is underway and is scheduled to be completed by 2022. The City will pursue funding for design and construction following the completion of the environmental phase. The project is expected to be implemented on a segment-by-segment basis.
The City received a $2 million Measure BB grant from the Alameda County Transportation Commission to complete preliminary engineering and environmental clearance. Environmental clearance will position the project to be competitive for grant funding or other opportunities to design and construct segments.
