Required Renewal
A yearly renewal is required for the City's business and registration tax. The required forms are mailed to all registered businesses. These forms should be completed with the requested information and returned to our office with payment.

Renewal Filing Deadlines
Renewal of existing Business Tax Registrations is due no later than 5:00 pm on the last day of the month following the expiration of the registration. If the last day of the month is a weekend or holiday, the postmark deadline is the preceding business day, not the next business day.

If you wish to file your return at our office, your payment must be received on the last business day no later than 4 p.m. at our cashier counter (cashier counter closes at noon on Fridays), or no later than 5 p.m. in the payment drop box. The payment drop box is outside the main entrance of our Revenue Division office at 39550 Liberty Street, Fremont, CA.

Please note: If your business has closed, you must notify the City in writing of the date of closure. Please sign and date the letter and return it to the Revenue Division Office. If your business had income or payroll depending on the basis of your tax, you should send payment for your closing gross with the letter.
