Battle of the Badges Charity Basketball Game to benefit Special Olympics of Northern California

Saturday, April 27, 2019

The Fremont Police and Fremont Fire Departments will face off at the Battle of the Badges charity basketball game to benefit Special Olympics Northern California on Saturday, April 27, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Washington High School, located at 38442 Fremont Blvd. in Fremont. The doors open and the event will begin at 4:30 p.m., with an intra-mural pregame basketball competition between City of Fremont employees from the Public Works, Community Services, and Community Development departments. Tip-off for the main event between Fremont Police and Fremont Fire will take place at 6 p.m.

In addition to the exciting basketball games, the event will feature halftime entertainment, a silent auction, photo opportunities with police and fire staff, and a variety of snacks will available for sale.

The event entry fee is $5 per person (children under 5 are free) and will be collected at the entrance to the event site.

Cash, card or checks (made out to Special Olympics of Northern California) will be accepted.

All proceeds from the event will be given directly to Special Olympics Northern California to support the more than 22,000 athletes in Northern California. Special Olympics programs help promote dignity, acceptance, and give people with intellectual disabilities a chance to fulfill their human potential. This special fundraiser was originally founded by the Leadership Fremont Class of 2007, an annual program of the Fremont Chamber of Commerce.
