The City of Fremont is monitoring a powerful storm system that is expected to move into the area late tonight. A wind advisory has been issued for early Saturday morning hours through Saturday afternoon and the heaviest rainfall rates are expected Saturday afternoon through Sunday, tapering off by Monday.
City Staff has inspected problem flood areas and is clearing debris to minimize storm drain blockages. Public Works crews are also prepared to conduct regular patrols and inspections of known hotspots to identify potential flooding early and to focus resources accordingly to prevent larger problems. The City of Fremont will adjust staffing levels accordingly as the events unfold.
