Fremont’s New Electricity Provider is East Bay Community Energy

EBCE

Starting this month, East Bay Community Energy, also known as EBCE, is the new electricity provider for Fremont. Through this local Community Choice Energy (CCE) program, Fremont residents are receiving cleaner electricity at an affordable rate.

The City has received several inquiries about East Bay Community Energy, and we want to share some information with you. Please review our FAQ document to learn more about EBCE.

In addition, anyone with questions about EBCE or interested in learning more can visit the Fremont Main Library on Monday, November 19 from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. EBCE staff members will be available to answer questions and provide additional information.

A more detailed workshop hosted by the City of Fremont, East Bay Community Energy, and the Center for Sustainable Energy is also planned for Monday, December 10. At this workshop, titled Clean Power Options for Fremont with East Bay Community Energy, City staff will discuss the City’s climate action goals and sustainability efforts. Staff will also provide resources for residents on how they can reduce their own environmental footprint and explain how participation in EBCE supports the City’s emissions reduction goals through the generation of cleaner, renewable energy. Register for this workshop.
