The City of Fremont Planning Division has announced a new Universal Planning Application. The new application combines all of the necessary forms and submittal requirements for planning permits into one simple, concise, and user-friendly document.

New features of the Universal Planning Application include:

  • A comprehensive list of application submittal requirements for all planning application types
  • A sheet-by-sheet breakdown of which plan set pages are required for each type of design review or entitlement submittal
  • Updated submittal format requirements, with an emphasis on electronic plans
  • Updated links to helpful resources and application components

The City hopes that the new application will make applying for planning permits more convenient and accessible, regardless of the application type.

The Universal Planning Application is available online or at the Development Services Center, located at 39550 Liberty St. in Fremont. The Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday. The Planning Division will continue to accept submissions using the previous Planning Application form, although applicants should note that all applications will be deemed complete or incomplete based on the submittal requirements checklist found in the Universal Planning Application.
