At the December 8, 2020, City Council meeting, the Fremont City Council thanked outgoing Councilmember Vinnie Bacon for his nine years of dedicated public service to the City of Fremont.
Mr. Bacon was first elected to the Fremont City Council in December 2012 and served two four-year terms. Prior to being elected to the Council, he served on the City’s Economic Development Advisory Commission.
Representing the City of Fremont on numerous regional agencies, including AC Transit Policy Advisory Committee, East Bay Regional Park District Liaison Committee, Southern Alameda County Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Authority, Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), Housing Authority of Alameda County (HACA), San Francisco Bay Restoration Authority, Stop Waste, and the East Bay Clean Energy Authority, Mr. Bacon advocated for environmentally sustainable policies, more affordable housing and tenant protections, and many other key initiatives during his tenure on the City Council.
Mayor Lily Mei read a resolution honoring Mr. Bacon for his distinguished service to the City and Fremont community.
