New Online Payments for City Permits

COVID-19 City Updates about Construction

The City of Fremont Community Development Department has launched online payments for City permit fees. Applicants can use the City’s online permitting portal, Citizen Access, to pay for planning, building, fire, and engineering permits.

To make a payment, applicants need to create an account in Citizen Access and then search for their record using the address for the project or the permit number. Once a record is located, applicants can submit payment for their permit fees using a credit card. Visa or Mastercard are accepted, and the maximum payment transaction allowed is $5,000.

With the addition of this new service, the process for most permits can now be completed entirely online. With Citizen Access, applicants can submit a pre-application for a new permit request, pay permit fees, look up permitting information on a specific property, check on the status of a permit, and request a building inspection. The process is now easier and more convenient for applicants.

For help or questions about Citizen Access and online payments, please contact Community Development by email. For more information about City permits, please contact Plans and Permits at 510-494-4460 or by email.
