Jeff Schwob serves as the Community Development Director. Jeff oversees the Building, Community Preservation, Housing and Planning divisions, as well as the City's one-stop permit shop: the Development Services Center.
His career spans 25 years with experience in broad range of community development activities including long range and current planning, project management, community engagement, process design, transportation systems management, and impact fee program development.
Prior to his current assignment, Jeff served as Planning Director, Deputy Planning Manager, Senior Planner and Zoning Administrator for Fremont wherein he contributed to the Niles and Irvington Concept Plans, the 2001-2006 Housing Element, implementation of the Hill Area Initiative, the original and subsequent Affordable Housing Ordinances. Prior to coming to Fremont in 1999, Jeff worked in the cities of Santa Rosa and San Rafael, Alameda County, and the University of Oregon Housing Office.
Jeff received his Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Oregon and is a member of both the American Planning Association and the American Institute of Certified Planners.
