Shared & Active Transportation

The City of Fremont's Climate Action Plan sets a number of goals for reducing the vehicle emissions from the transportation sector, with one strategy specifically identifying the development of car sharing, carpooling, and other services that reduce the need to own a personal vehicle as a priority.

Micromobility

Did you know that the majority of the trips taken in a motorized vehicle are only a few miles? Micromobility options such as bicycles, electric bikes, and motorized e-scooters provide residents with a low or no carbon transportation alternative to driving for these local trips around the city. In addition to classic human-powered transportation modes such as walking, rolling, or skating, new e-micromobility options powered by electricity and equipped with batteries provide even more low carbon ways to move around the city.
