The City of Fremont strives to ensure its services are accessible to people with disabilities. We have invested a significant amount of resources to help ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, with the firm belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

Accessibility on Fremont.gov

Fremont.gov uses the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget which is powered by a dedicated accessibility server.

We also use Monsido, a third-party authority on web accessibility, to scan for accessibility issues. Identified issues are monitored and remediated regularly.

These tools allow Fremont.gov to improve its compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1).

The City of Fremont provides a listing of events in Fremont as a service to its customers. This list is not an exhaustive list of all events in Fremont. The City may list events that meet one of the following criteria:

• City meetings (e.g. City Council, Board and Commission meetings, Department specific meetings).
• City sponsored events.
• Meetings or events of other government agencies, including federal, state, county, regional, public schools, joint power authorities, and  special districts.
• Meetings or events of organizations that receive sponsorship from the City of Fremont in the form of a  financial grant or a written contract by which the City provides services in collaboration with the organization to achieve a mutual goal related to the City's governmental purpose.
• Meetings or events of private utilities that have a franchise from the City of Fremont by which the City regulates or monitors customer service issues.
• Meetings or events of organizations that rent or lease office space from the City of Fremont, such as tenants of the Family Resource Center.
• Meetings or events of local and regional economic development organizations that assist the City in promoting businesses throughout Fremont: the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, business district associations, Economic Development Alliance for Business, Joint Venture Silicon Valley, East Bay Small Business Development Center, Bay Area Regional Technology Alliance, Manex, etc.
• Relevant meetings of any non-City government agency.
• Events open to the general public for which the City sponsors, approves a special event permit and/or approves the use of public rights-of-way or City property.

The purpose of this policy is to identify the criteria and conditions by which the City provides links to external websites. Consistent with the City's overall Website Use Policy, the City's primary purpose for linking to external websites is for the City to provide information to the public regarding services available to the public from City government, as well as information regarding services available to the public from other governmental agencies and private organizations in partnership with the City. • Events that serve a public purpose.
• News and media sites.
• Private entities participating in official City of Fremont donation or sponsorship programs.
• Non-profit organizations that support the City’s role in serving the community.

The linked sites are not under the control of the City of Fremont and the City of Fremont is not responsible for the content of any linked site or any link contained in a linked site, including without limitation, any material posted on the website or for any viruses or other contamination of user’s systems, and is not responsible for any changes or updates to such sites. Our Commitment to Your Privacy and Security

The City of Fremont recognizes and respects your right to privacy regarding personal identifying information revealed to the City through your use of the City's website and applications. This privacy policy explains the City's practices for collecting personal identifying information from the City's website, applications, and the choices you can make that determine how your personal identifying information is collected and used by the City organization. The City receives identity information from customers via the City website through a variety of online forms, and applications (e.g., Reg-E-Rec, ConstantContact, Mailchimp, Granicus GovDelivery, Granicus GovAccess, Accela Citizen Access, Rock Solid OneView CRM, and Rock Solid OneLink Mobile App). The primary reason that the City collects and maintains residents’ information is to serve you and administer your customer relationship with the City. We do not sell or rent your personal information.

The City values opinions and comments from community members, so it may occasionally conduct online polls and surveys. Participation in these polls and surveys is voluntary.
Typically, the information is aggregated and used to record user opinions and feedback on important community issues. Online participants are anonymous unless otherwise stated in the survey or poll.

The City may use identity information collected to distribute information about City services.

Minor's Privacy Policy and Parental Consent. [Parent includes legal guardian]

Parental consent must be obtained before a minor user provides any personal information to the City. A parent may revoke their consent and the City will stop using information from or for that child. Revocation may end a child's participation in an activity if the information collected was necessary for participation.

Log Files

The City tracks web server log files in order to create aggregate statistical reports, detect errors, and maintain security. These reports do not contain any personally identifiable information of users outside the City network.

Cookies

This Website uses "cookies." A cookie contains unique information a Web site can use to track various categories of information, such as IP address, browser version, and browser preferences. Cookies created on your computer by using this Website do not contain personally identifying information. You can refuse the cookie or delete the cookie file from your computer.
