All our Citywide initiatives loop back to one key theme – improving wellbeing in Fremont. A fundamental part of wellbeing is public safety. We have a variety of public safety initiatives in place that better protect and serve our community. 

Some of our programs include:

• Vision Zero, a comprehensive approach to the implementation and planning of roadway infrastructure to prevent traffic-related deaths
• Drone as First Responders (DFR), which allows our Fremont Police and Fremont Fire Departments to deploy Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to immediately respond to and assess emergencies
• Fremont Police hybrid and electric patrol vehicles, which improve the efficiency and sustainability of our Police Department
• 50-50 Programs to help with the costs of street tree pruning, removal, and replacement as well as help to fix sidewalks damaged by trees

Technology and innovation are in our DNA; we are constantly keeping an eye out for new and innovative ways to further deploy emerging solutions to keep our community safe.
