Warm Springs

View of West Access Bridge and Plaza, Warm Springs Bart station and East Bay hills under clouds The Warm Springs District combines Fremont's continuing legacy of manufacturing and industrial activities with mixed-use and transit-oriented development created specifically with the needs of the 21st century workforce in mind (think local coffee spots, places to raise families, and public transportation). Speaking of which, the district is home to the Fremont's newest operating BART station, the Warm Springs/South Fremont Station, which anchors this employment hub.

Notably, Warm Springs is home to Tesla's sprawling Fremont Factory, a 5.3 million square foot operation with an approved Master Plan to expand by another 4.6 million square feet. While transit-oriented employment is typically associated with offices and taller structures, Tesla's factory shows that industrial and manufacturing jobs can also support transit ridership when next to stations.

Encompassing the Warm Springs/South Fremont BART Station and Tesla Factory is the Fremont Innovation District. This expansive 850 acre area highlights the concentration of pioneering technology companies located here and builds on a strategy that leverages a combination of physical infrastructure and human capital to support the creation businesses and development of technologies.

In addition to Tesla, the Warm Springs District includes hundreds of technology and life sciences employers including Zoox, Seagate, Western Digital, ThermoFisher Scientific, and FM Industries.

This area not only spurs tech innovation, but also houses residential neighborhoods, connectivity, open space, urban vibes, and of course, the best food trucks the Bay Area has to offer.

Progress has already been made on new housing developments, an elementary school, and the Tesla campus expansion project. When the dust settles, this burgeoning neighborhood will house more than 20,000 new jobs, state-of-the-art educational facilities, community parks, 4,000 new housing units, and more.
