Inspiring the youth of Fremont to connect with nature and protect it for generations to come

Visit us and learn about the importance of wildlife and the environment, examine taxidermic mounts of local animals, study plants and search for critters while exploring our pollinator garden, discover our local watersheds and hear about what you can do to protect them. Do all these things and much more at the Nature Learning Center. Be sure to ask our interpretive staff why our motto is “Only Rain Down the Storm Drain!”.  

Public Hours:
We are open to the public admission-free most Wednesdays during the Fall, Winter and Spring from 1:00pm-4:00pm and 2nd Saturdays of the month from 10:00am-2:00pm. Inclement weather can cancel these openings. 
Please note that we will NOT be hosting public hours on Wednesdays November 13th and 27th, 2024. 

All ages are welcome at our facility but please note that children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times while visiting the Nature Learning Center during public hours. 

Small groups are welcome to visit during public hours for self-guided exploration. If you plan on bringing a group of more than 12 please contact us and let us know ahead of time.

Environmental Services is proud to offer FREE fieldtrips to Fremont-based 2^nd and 3^rd grade classes.

Volunteer Opportunities:
Our garden is maintained primarily through organized volunteer workdays. We encourage interested parties to sign up early as space is limited.
