Earth Day Document Shredding Guidelines:

Our FREE document shredding service is available for FREMONT RESIDENTS only. Please be prepared to show your ID or other proof of residency.

This service will be available from 11am-3pm or until the truck is full.

Please note our household limit of 3 banker boxes no larger than 10″ x 12″ x 24″ each.

The following items are acceptable for collection at our event:

  • White & colored paper (any size)
  • File folders
  • Window envelopes
  • Paper Clips, staples and rubber bands and small binder clips are OK

Unfortunately, we cannot accept the following items for shredding at our event: 

  • Photographs
  • Plastic protectors
  • Binders (binder clips, spiral bound, vinyl, 3 ring)
  • Padded envelopes
  • Newspapers
  • Magazines

This is a drive-through collection. Residents are being asked to remain in their car for their safety. Staff will collect the documents from your vehicle.

Our shredding service will be staged in the Family Resource Center parking lot (39155 Liberty Street), accessible via Liberty Street.

This service is intended for Fremont Residents, not commercial businesses.

    Documents for shredding, old prescription eyeglasses, needles/syringes, mercury thermometers, medication take back, unused condiments and packaged utensils.

  • Environmental services staff explains how to compost kitchen scraps to Earth Day attendee

    Recycling, composting, and waste reduction, saving energy at home, local sustainability programs, eco-friendly gardening and composting.
