Open Data Hub

Open Data Hub provides the public with location-based data and applications. The information provided by the site ranges from Fremont specific data, applications and websites to certain related sites offered by outside agencies (i.e., such as at the County, State and Federal level).

Open Data Hub - The Open Data Hub is a one-stop shop for City maps, data sets, and webpages with an user-friendly search function. Quick links to applications, data and resources are available in the web site’s header.

Hub Overview

  • Open Data Hub Quick Link header: The Application quick link lists all available applications listed in the Open Data Hub. The Open Data quick link provides you direct access to the site’s entire catalogue. Under the Fremont Resources quick link, only Fremont data, webpages and applications are shown. Information from outside agencies is listed under the External Resource quick link.
  • Just Released: This section will showcase recently posted websites and applications for a month. Because this section changes periodically, we encourage you to frequently visit the Open Data Hub site to see what new items are being shown.
  • Discover Open Data: You can search for data, applications and webpages in the Discover Open Data field by typing in a word or by selecting one of the listed category (i.e., data, documents or Apps & Maps) from the scrolling menu.
  • Explore Categories: The contents of the Open Data Hub are classified under six different categories (i.e., District, Economic, Engineering, Planning, Transportation and all). Just click on an icon to bring up its list.
  • Story Maps:  This section features the most popular City of Fremont’s Story Maps. A Story Map is web-based story used to provide information (i.e., a story) on a focused topic. There may be a combination of text, images, videos, static/interactive maps and links to related web sites in in a Story Map.
  • Popular Maps & Apps: This section contains a link to the most used maps and GIS applications in the Open Data Hub.
  • New and Featured Maps & Apps: This section showcases the latest additions to the GIS Maps, applications and featured content.
  • General information:
    • Data layers: Use the DOWNLOAD button on each category, search, or layer page to select the download format required. Data may be downloaded in Spreadsheet, KML, Shapefile or API Format.
    • Documents (i.e., links to webpages and selected applications): Use the OPEN button located to just above the About section for the item to access the webpage/application. Alternately, some may open directly to the webpage/application directly.
    • Fremont GIS Data layers are projected in: NAD_1983_StatePlane_California_III_FIPS_0403_Feet.
