Although customer preference will be considered, Urban Forestry staff will ultimately determine species of tree by available planting space and location.
About the 50/50 Street Tree Program
The City's 50-50 Street Tree Program helps Fremont property owners pay for some of the costs of street tree pruning, removal and replacement.
How to Apply for the 50/50 Street Tree Program
Clients can fill out the 50-50 Application Form to apply for the 50/50 Street Tree Program.
Necessary Documents for Eligibility for the 50-50 Tree Program
Your client will need the following documents to be eligible for the 50-50 Tree Program:
- Invoice
- Residents should pay by check or credit card. They need bank proof of payment.
- Samples of invoices and bank proof of payment are shown on our 50-50 Application Form
- Before and after photos of tree work
How to Determine if a Permit Will Be Issued
A tree removal permit may be issued if one of the following criteria is met:
- The tree poses a substantial hazard to people or property
- The tree is dead, dying or has short life expectancy
- The tree is seriously diseased
- The tree is part of a group that is overcrowded
- The tree has caused extensive utility damage (sewer, water main, power lines, etc.)
- The tree has caused extensive concrete or property damage
- The tree has been damaged to the extent that it cannot be feasibly restored
