URBAN FORESTRY SERVICE CORPS ASSISTANT (PSA II)

THE POSITION

The City of Fremont is seeking applicants to fill full-time (40-hours a week), temporary positions within the Fremont Urban Forestry Service Corps. These positions are paid and have a five-month duration. There are three available corps cohorts – Oak, from Feb 2025 to June 2025; Sycamore, from July 2025 to Dec 2025; and Redwood from Jan 2026 to May 2026. These positions work five days a week in small cohorts completing  a combination of in-class learning and in-the-field service projects.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

• Learn and study a variety of topics related to urban forestry, public greenspace, and sustainability
• Work within cohorts to complete urban forestry service projects in local Fremont neighborhoods
• Ensure safety and high quality of work

 QUALIFICATIONS

Any combination of education and/or experience that has provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to satisfactory job performance would be qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required knowledge, skills and abilities would be:

EDUCATION

Possession of a high-school degree

EXPERIENCE

No specific urban forestry experience necessary

POSSESSION OF THE FOLLOWING IS HIGHLY DESIRABLE:

• Experience working within urban forestry
• Experience working with disadvantaged communities

HOURLY RATE

$25.00
