Looking for some adventure this fall? Join us at the Nature Learning Center's Open House for a day of discovery! Explore the wonders of nature on Saturday, October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Located in Fremont’s Central Park at 40224 Paseo Padre Parkway (near the Aqua Adventure Waterpark), the Center offers a free, immersive experience for all ages. Explore the importance of wildlife and the environment, get up close with local animals through taxidermic mounts, delve into our pollinator garden, and learn about our local watersheds. Don’t forget to ask why the Center’s motto is “Only Rain Down the Storm Drain!”
Special Talk
This event will feature a special talk on "cavity nesters" at 10:00 a.m. The Santa Clara County Coordinator for the California Bluebird Recovery Program will share insights on these special birds. In Fremont, bluebirds and several other bird species rely on nest boxes to raise their young. Woodpeckers create cavities in trees for their nests, and once they’re done, bluebirds can move in. Unfortunately, the removal of these trees has left many birds without nesting sites. Join us to learn how you can help our feathered friends by installing nest boxes and discover which other birds also utilize them here in Fremont.
