The roles and responsibilities of the Office of the Fire Chief includes but is not limited to the following:
- Oversee Fire Suppression and rescue operations, Emergency Medical Services, and Disaster Response.
- Establish and implement policies, programs, and procedures.
- Set department's goals and objectives.
- Develop, update, and implement department's Strategic Plan.
- Plan and direct the preparation of department's budget.
- Administer and manage department's labor relations activities.
- Oversee community risk assessment endeavors and department's Standards of Cover.
- Initiate and execute contracts and agreements with other jurisdictions.
- Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, community members, and elected officials.
- Participate in community events and public relations activities.
