Training and EMS

Training Pic 1Fremont Fire Department's Training and EMS Division is comprised of two teams each with distinct roles and responsibilities seen below.

  • Training Division:
    • Develop, coordinate, and deliver in-house training related to fire suppression, fire and special operations, equipment use and maintenance, fire rescue, etc.
    • Manage and provide support for various training related projects and programs.
    • Administer firefighter lateral and recruit (new-hire) academies.
    • Manage and track firefighter credentials,  certifications, and continuing education.
    • Manage and administer professional development opportunities, skills assessment and evaluation, and promotional academies.

 

  • Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division:
    • Facilitate EMS Continuing Education (EMS CE) opportunities for the department's suppression personnel
    • Manage and provide support EMS projects and programs.
    • Develop, coordinate, and deliver EMS educational opportunities to maintain and improve clinical competence.
    • Administer EMS skills assessment.
    • Manage and track EMS credentials, certifications, and continuing education.
    • Respond to Patient Care Records Request
    • Manage and coordinate department's EMT Recertifcation.
    • Manage and coordinate department's CPR Recertifcation.
