About the Department
To achieve its goals, the Fremont Fire Department utilizes a state-of-the-art rolling stock, comprised of 11 front-line engines, two ladder trucks, and three specialty rigs. Firefighters work a 48/96 work schedule and are stationed at 11 modern fire houses.
The Fremont Fire Department also maintains an innovative and cutting-edge paramedic program, an elite Special Operations Task Force, community disaster preparedness training, a State-certified rescue team at the heavy level, hazardous materials management services for over 1,000 facilities, Urban Search and Rescue services with California Task Force 4, and is one of 124 Metropolitan Medical Response System Cities nationwide with enhanced emergency triage for a mass casualty event or public health emergency.
