Fire Station Tours, School Visit, Extinguisher Demonstration, Safety Talk

Fremont Fire Department provides fire and life safety education through a program called Public Relations Activity (PRA). This program gives us an opportunity to provide our community members a behind-the-scenes look into our operations and answer any related questions. Below are four different types of PRAs we engage in.

  • Fire Station Tours
  • School Visits/ Safety Talk
  • Community Events
  • Extinguisher Training / Demonstration (Click here for more information and refer to scheduling a PRA below)

Station Tours/School Visits -Program Requirements/Guidelines:

  • Limited to Fremont Unified School District schools and community groups such as Girl and Boy Scouts
  • Capacity: 30 children or less (with a ratio of 1 adult per 10 kids)
  • Age Group: Kindergarten and above

Scheduling a PRA

Please email  Fremont Fire Department at least four to six weeks in advance of your preferred date or event. We request that you include the following information in your request.

  • Name of the organization (if applicable) requesting the PRA
  • Name and phone number of the person requesting the PRA
  • Number of participants
    • Age group of the children, if requesting a fire station tour or school visit
  • Preferred date and time (a range will help us with calendaring)
  • If requesting Fire Station tour, identify a station you wish to tour. For a list of fire station locations, please click here. If no station is identified in the request, the department will assign a station.
  • Based on our calendar availability, a staff member will contact the requestor to coordinate scheduling of the PRA.

NOTE

  • PRAs will not be scheduled between 12 p.m. - 1p.m., 6 p.m. - 7 p.m., or after 7 p.m.
  • Birthday parties or other private engagements are excluded from PRAs.

As first responders, Fremont Fire Department's priority is to ensure the safety and the well-being of our Fremont community. While we are committed to conducting our PRA(s) at the pre-determined date and time, we are also on-call 24-7 to respond to emergencies in the City.  Should an emergency occur that requires our resources and services, we may cut-short or cancel the school visit, station tour, safety demonstration, or our presence at a community event. In such a scenario, we will make every attempt to re-schedule the PRA to a later date.
