Smoke Alarm Program

Smoke Detector Program at FS#6 Open HouseThe best protection against fire-related disasters is prevention and early warning. A working smoke alarm is an essential part of a household's escape plan.

Fremont Fire Department offers a Smoke Alarm Program which is administered by a team of dedicated volunteers.

Eligible Participants:

  • Senior citizens
  • Low-income households
  • Differently-abled individuals

Services Offered:

  • Installation and maintenance of free / standard smoke alarms
  • Installation of specialized visual smoke alarms for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community members. 
  • Replacement of batteries (every six months), upon request.

If you cannot afford to purchase a smoke alarm or are physically unable to install a smoke alarm, you may submit a request to the Red Cross or call them at 510-595-4573.
