Centerville Train Depot
The Centerville Train Depot is an important asset and resource to the community serving as a significant transit hub in Fremont. In an effort to address the unauthorized use of the Centerville Train Depot parking lot and reinforce its intended use of providing parking primarily for transit users, the City of Fremont established a Centerville Train Depot Paid Parking program. Paid parking at the Centerville parking lots went into effect on November 4, 2019. The parking fee program will provide resources for the management and security of the parking lot.
For more information, please call: (510) 494-4700 or email parking@fremont.gov.
Parking is available on a first come, first served basis.
Rates
A daily parking fee of $3.00 at the Centerville Train Depot is scheduled to be implemented on weekdays, Monday from 12:00 a.m. through 11:59 p.m. Friday. Notices displaying the daily parking fee will be posted at the station and apply to the designated "Fee" area of the station. Parking will remain free on weekends and holidays.
Daily Parking Fee
Single Day fees would be good for 24 hours from the time of purchase. For example, a person could purchase parking at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday and the parking would be paid through Wednesday, 7:29 a.m.
Daily parking paid on Friday is good for 72 hours. Parking purchased on Friday at 7:30 a.m. would be good thru 7:29 a.m. the following Monday. Customers using the ADA accessible parking spaces would also be required to pay the established parking fees at times when those fees would be in effect.
Designated Parking Areas
Parking Lots
As part of the proposed paid parking program, two designated parking lots are proposed to be used for the Centerville Train Station. The main parking lot is located adjacent to the Centerville Train Depot. A second parking lot is located on the southeast side of the train tracks adjacent to Bill Ball Plaza. The City is also exploring other options to be developed to further address parking demand at the Centerville Station.
Zipcar Parking
Parking would continue to be free in designated spaces for Zipcar vehicles only, on a first come, first-served basis.
Motorcycle Parking
Motorcycles would continue to park free of charge in designated motorcycle parking areas. However, if a motorcycle is parked in a numbered stall in the daily fee area, then the owner would be required to pay the parking fee from 12:00 a.m. Monday to 11:59 p.m. Friday.
