In an effort to illustrate the level of service required to address the homelessness crisis, the City has developed this data report covering fiscal year 2022–23.
The City is sharing this study by United Way on what it takes to make ends meet in California. Unlike the official poverty measure which primarily accounts for the cost of food, the Real Cost Measure factors the costs of housing, food, health care, childcare, transportation and other basic needs to reveal what it really costs to live in California.
