10-Minute Walk Campaign
The 10-Min Walk Plan is a mission established by The Trust for Public Land in conjunction with public agencies to improve public access to parks, trails, and green spaces.
A roadmap that creates a shared vision for the future of a tree canopy. The first step is to assess all the trees within our the streets and parks. The collected data provides information to build a 40-year horizon plan that guides the City to proactively and effectively manage the urban forest, and provide for maximum, long-term benefits to the community.
This plan provides an overarching framework for implementing future trail projects in Fremont. The plan envisions more than doubling the City’s trail network from 61 miles to 140 miles over the next 30 years.
Completed Master Plan Projects
A new community park located in the Warm Springs Innovation District. The park is a joint-use park with Lila Bringhurst Elementary School. The park features a large lawn area bordered by a 10' wide concrete loop trail, shade structures, restroom, 4 half court basketball courts, hardcourt play area, an outdoor classroom with amphitheater seating, big kids play area, small kids play area, butterfly garden, and a 4' high perimeter fence.
Other Planning Initiatives
The City Council adopted a plan to improve 14 city entries with granite and stone monument signs, lighting, and landscaping. These entries are planned for improvements over a period of years as partnership opportunities and funds become available.
Sabercat Historical Park
The Plan covers 879 acres generally bounded by I-880 on the west, I-680 on the east, Auto Mall Parkway on the north, and Mission Boulevard on the south. The Plan sets the framework for a transformation of the area into an Innovation District and employment center accommodating a mix of compatible uses focused around the synergy of the new BART station and adjacent undeveloped land.
